Waking Up Early

As the saying goes... "Early bird catches worms".  And so as the many benefits of waking up early.  Though it's a mystery why people have a  hard time of getting off their beds in early hours, our ancestors had been doing that for centuries.  Its actually quite easy when you make it a habit and you set your mind unto it... and its very rewarding considering all the benefits it offers... to name a few:
taken @ Camp Sabros... I don't know if this fits my post..
it's just that this picture was taken early morning (LOL)...
  • Early morning is very refreshing both in mind and in body.  The air is cool and the atmosphere is relaxing.  The surrounding is not yet crowded or busy.  Its a great time to find peace and calmness... a great time to pray to our Lord and spend quality time with Him.
  • You have plenty of time to do your routines and still have time to do other things.  So why suffer the stress of looking at the clock each and every minute and being at its mercy... to some point of skipping some necessary parts of your morning routines just to catch up with time... when all you have to do is to set your alarm clock in a much early time.
  • Too early, lot of time... good health.  You can still enjoy a morning jog or walk or a simple flex of muscles.  Have a refreshing bath... able to take your time to clean yourself properly.  Eat properly with no rush... able to chew your food properly.  And no stress in doing other things you need to do before going to work... with less hassle in forgetting something.
  • Safer drive to your work place.  You avoid the stress of being caught with the rush hour where traffic jam is everywhere.  Having an early morning drive minimizes accidents since your driving along with people who are not in a rush... same as you are.
  • Early for work.  Arriving early in your workplace, makes people think you care for your job and you respect other people's time.  As my wife used to tell me, people who are always late... don't love their job... they are just there because of the salary.  I guess she's right... because if you love something, you tend not to be reluctant... instead, you always want to do it ahead of time... right?
And being early for work gives you time to thank the Lord for bringing you safely to work...
There's a lot more advantages in waking up early... much more I guess than it's disadvantages if there's any.  So, have a healthy morning by waking up early everyday... at least 1.5 to 2 hours before your work... Those who start the day well, ends it well.  Have a pleasant mornings ahead of you.  Yahweh bless.

  1. I love getting up early, Ralph -- especially just before dawn breaks. There's something incredibly exciting and, at the same time, peaceful, about being awake while it's still dark out. I get so much done in those hours. I especially like to take that time when the world is not yet awake to write! Keep up the good work!

  2. Over the summer months, I transform into a night owl. Still as soon as sunlight fills my room I am up. Now that the school year is upon us I will be burning the candle at both ends. Up early because I have to, and up late at night because I want to! :D Great post!!

  3. I agree, waking up early in the morning is healthy for us, but it's so hard to do so. I have to start doing that because when school starts I will be waking up at 7 am every day.

I have to be honest with everyone I been waking up at 2 pm in the afternoon this summer and it's killing me. Because of my stupid sleeping habits I been getting constipated and fat. The doctor told me to try to wake up early for the sake of my health :)

@Daphne... I can see your passion for writing... indeed, it's the good time to write... ideas do run smoothly without distraction...
@Kathy... most of the time, we hate to go to bed early, but we need to sleep... right? And it's a lot easier to wake up early when we sleep early... as well ;)
@hilda... listening to the doctor's advise is sometimes sickening... and hard to do... but make this as an exception... I think you should listen to him..Dr's are usually right you know(lol)
Thanks for the comments, guys. Yahweh bless.

  10. I used to be an early riser in my elementary years. In high school I had to be because classes start at 7am. Today, I am (again) but I'm having a bit of a trouble recently since I'm stressed out and when I sleep at night I wake up several times, making me groggy in the morning.

  11. I am guilty of this one :D I think I haven't done this for a long time. My usual experience now is lunch and breakfast in one which literally means I do wake up late.

  12. hmm... since I became a full-time mom I had no choice but to wake up early. Early meaning not the usual time when I wake if I have no work. It's hard to wake up early here in our side of the globe especially now. It is really, really cold! The weather is very conducive for sleeping.

  23. Update from my previous comments: I love waking up early in the morning, doing mother chores and at the same time making a product review for my blog post. As the saying goes: "Having a good start to the day where you have greater control is critical in achieving better results, and ultimately greater career success,”
