Unwinding At NRC2

Immediately after we arrived in General Santos City, we proceed to a resort called NRC2 Garden Resort (haven't really asked them about their name).  Just coming from a more or less 3 hours bus trip, the very first thing I would love to do was to lay down and sleep to a cozy bed... but going to the place was unexpectedly not that bad as well.  It was purely simple fun, nothing fancy about the place, makes it perfect for unwinding and relaxation.  More, we're lucky the place wasn't that crowded at that moment... in fact, our group was the only one there.

The resort was just kilometers away but far enough from the busy life of the city... not to mention that it is surrounded by mountain view.  As for facilities and amusement, they offer the following:

  • They have a 4 feet to 6 feet deep pool for adults and a separate pool for the kids with slides (the kids really enjoyed them).
  • Cottages and function rooms
  • A tennis court
  • Karaoke or sing-a-long stations (wasn't able to get the mic from my wife...LOL)
  • And an ostrich (just saw one, not sure if there's more... hehehe)

If you're curious to visit their place, they are located at PhilTrade, Barangay Mabuhay, General Santos City.  It's quite tricky to get to the place, so you may want to ask for direction and other information in their contact number 0918-229-1630.  Good luck.  Yahweh bless.

You're Already A Month

My daughter and I have been traveling almost every weekend to Gensan just to visit our family there.  It was our decision that my wife spend her maternity leave with her parents so she could have all the time she needs to rest and recover.  And we think that it would be very convenient for her since she could have all the help she needs in taking care of baby Jacob, for the time being.  Though our family craves to be together, we just need to sacrifice a little bit, and think of what's best for everyone.  So, we just let each other feel how much we missed one another during our short visits... How we wish we would no longer return for work and school...

This was our first visit since my paternity leave weeks ago.  Our Jacob just turned a month old now.  He drinks a couple of ounces of milk almost every 2 hours, has more muscles and movement control especially in his hands and feet, fuller body and face (definitely gained weight) and still sleeps and cries a lot, but this time, it's louder... LOL.  And his kuya (older brother) Justin is coping up nicely in his new school.  He is doing pretty well with their school lessons and activities.  How I terribly miss my boys... and their mom... huhuhu!!!

Though tomorrow would again be "a crying time" for my girl as we would be returning to Davao, and again leaving them behind, our foresight is already for next week, as our kuya Justin will be celebrating his birthday... hahay, already I feel that longing to return here even if I haven't left yet.  Hmmm... I guess in life there will always be sacrifices...  but as long as my family is okay and it's whats best for each and everyone, then it's fine with me... Just have to learn to bend with the circumstances and have faith in Him that everything is according to His will.  Yahweh bless.

Ranchero Grill's New Home In Gensan

With Dadiangas as our second home, we have decided that my wife would spend her maternity leave there with her parents.  We had the time to spend three days with her before going back to Davao for work. While we were there, we couldn't resist visiting this  restaurant that's so near to our hearts, Ranchero Grill.  Aside from that the owner was a family friend of my wife's sister, we had our wedding reception in their branch in Davao City, making them a memorable part of our lives.  And with their newly opened branch in SM City, General Santos, we made  sure to pay them a visit.

Upon arrival, the kids immediately roamed and played around the place...  Very nice architecture, I must say.

And after all the exhausted energy, an enticing dinner was waiting for us...

We had their native chicken tinola for our soup... we also tried their famous sisig which was personally recommended by my sis-in-law... and of course we wouldn't miss their specialty, their super mouthwatering  baby back ribs.  And for the verdict, well as usual, they never let our taste buds down. Two thumbs up!

Let me just straighten this up, this isn't a paid ad nor a press release, but nevertheless if ever you're in General Santos for business or pleasure, I highly recommend visiting the place... whether you're with your family and friends or treating someone important or dear to your heart.... here, you can never go wrong.

Check them out also in Davao with some details found in this post: Friends Visiting In Davao.  Yahweh bless.

Time For A Week Long Vacation Spree

Having October 31 and November 1 declared as holiday, my wife and I decided to go visit my in-laws... and do the needed transactions we had to accomplish at the same time.  So we had our leaves arranged for the rest of the week.  The kids were really excited to visit their lola, lolo and titas. Well, I know their grandparents were excited to see them as well.

During our stay, as the kids were enjoying the pool in a nearby resort under the care of our parents, we were able to watch our long awaited movie... hassle-free and with piece of mind that the kids are well taken care of. After watching Amanda Seyfried and JT's "In Time", we were impressed with the writer's concept of using time as a metaphor for power and money, as it used time as currency... and literally, running out of time will cause a sudden cardiac arrest causing your death.   I like to elaborate more... but that would definitely kill the thrill for those who want to watch it... all I can say is... it's a two-thumbs up for me.

We always  enjoy our stay everytime we are in Gensan (with my in laws). A very comfortable one indeed.  From as simple as, a nice warm shower with no water interruption... to the convenience of WiFi and cable for some leisure time... not to mention the relief of having a lot of comfort rooms (whew)... the strolling in malls and around the city, and most of all, the food feast... from viands to cakes... to candies and chocolates... to fruits and ice creams... to chips and fast foods... boodles in every fridge. Just glad to still have control over the kids sweet tooth... or was it just the kids (hehe) :))

Well, our stay was not all for fun, there were stuffs we had to do and take care of ...It's nice to have an unfinished business get over and done with....for good.  We also couldn't avoid uncool things like the kids tantrums... as my in-laws termed it, the "long playing", since its annoyingly long and seemingly endless like a "24 in 1" compact disk.  Oh well, what's a  life of a parent without some little spices... it'll be so boring, right? hahaha.  I'll share some thoughts about it with you guys later and I would love to exchange techniques and meaningful experiences that help us go through with children expectations... LOL. Nevertheless, I thank Him for sparing me a little quality and precious time to enjoy and take some needed rest... just enough that it made me want to crave for more.  Take care everyone... it'll be one whole busy day ahead... Yahweh bless.

Bugsy

Bugsy, smile:)
He’s our Rottweiler dog in Gensan.  Every time I see Bugsy, I always remember the time when my wife was still staying in Gensan during her pregnancy with my daughter.  I always travelled during the weekends just to see them but always hesitant to go inside my in-laws gate since they let this medium size dog (Bugsy as a puppy) freely roamed around the house.  They say Rottweilers are good-natured and well mannered dog but they’re appearance is pretty much intimidating.  They are black (mostly), with firm and strong body and they have a big head... which I assume they have big brains and large jaws... meaning; they are intelligent and can bite big (LOL).  There’s nothing wrong of being anticipative and playing safe, right?... haha.  Anyway, at first I was hesitant to go near him because he’s too playful back then and I don’t have the slightest idea what’s in his mind... and one thing more, I always got this mixture of saliva and mud from him... even now.  But overall, Bugsy is a very nice dog, he protects the house from stranger (not because he attacks them, but it’s in his looks and the way he barks... though he seldom barks), very obedient, playful and friendly.
A pose or two...
Even if I wanted to have a Rottweiler at home, I don’t think I can maintain one.  They eat a lot (where do you think they get to maintain their body built).  If I’ll have one, it will probably become a Rottweiler with a built of a Doberman... or worst a size of a Chihuahua... haha.
Just enjoying the company...

I always believe that dogs or any other pets are good companions.  As they take care and amuse us in any way, they also need our protection and care.  You should only have pets if you are responsible enough and capable to have them.  Otherwise, let them go or give them to the proper authority or not to have them at all.  This will give them a chance to have a life that suites them most.  Yahweh bless us all.

Almost Done

The last time we visited Gensan, our place had no paint yet.  But now it’s almost done and almost ready for the housewarming.  Just a couple of small details left... but overall it’s complete.  All the rooms are fully painted and furnished already. Plants of different kinds are all over the place...  It feels good and so relaxing to come home to a place where everything is in order and knowing that your parents are eagerly waiting for your next visit. I can’t wait to be home again...

Our Home Away From Home...

We are spending our weekend here in General Santos City... A 3 hour drive from Davao City... but its still home to us.  We are staying with my wife's family here ... we have our own room cozy enough for my family to have a comfortable stay.  We often go here first, because my wife's family is here... second, we have to check on our business (our M&Co.shop)... and finally, because in here, we can relax all we want... depressurize and recharge (LOL)...  the  place is great... the food is sumptuous... and the atmosphere is amazing.. comfort beyond compare...
A sneak view...
And what a coincidence... without us knowing it... Gensan is also celebrating it's "Kalilangan Festival"... and they are celebrating it this week... the last week of February. It's like our "Kadayawan Festival" in Davao.  They say it's going to have full of festive activities today... and we've gone out to experience it first hand... but unfortunately it rained so in as much as we wanted the children to go with us, the kids had to go home ahead.  Upon arriving at the celebration site, Gensan's Oval Plaza, we saw some spectacular fireworks display... being a Dabaweño, it's been a while since we last saw one so we were kind of excited.  Then we bought some ornamental plants for our shop...   We found variety of beautiful display and they were very cheap... I know 'coz I love plants...  hahaha...  We roamed  around for a while... there were a lot of people... loud music... and some fun rides...

Our stay here is indeed a treat... Have a nice day... God bless.
