A Postcard From Vienna

Its been long since I received a postcard from someone, and it's my first from Vienna.  A colleague from work hand it over to me this morning.  And when I looked at to whom it was from, there I remembered a blogger friend told me that she'll be sending a postcard.  Never thought she will really send me one... hahaha.

Just sharing...
I always receive messages of thoughts, greetings, praises and expressions from friends and relatives, passed though electronic devices like cellphones and computers.  Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for them also, because I know I'm remembered. But I guess I'm just a little old fashion, I find it more significant those written in cards.  Maybe because people seldom do it these days.  Although you may say, it's the thought that counts, but I really appreciate the effort a person gives in sending an actual and personalized postcard or letter.  It's very humanly...

I don't despise the worldwide web nor our telecommunication technology, there's no question that we benefited and continue to benefit from it through fast dissemination and sharing of info, ideas, knowledge and more.  Again, I just appreciate people who gives a little more effort than the usual.

Thanks for the card and the thoughts with it, Gizelle... By the way, how much should I pay for it?  Just kidding.  LOL.  Yahweh bless.

    I miss this old fashioned thing. Sending letter/postcard. And a Letterman will knock on your door and handed it to you.

    Yes, cards are a more meaningful gifts and tokens since it takes more effort to search and send a card.

    It's also nice that despite the technology, postcard like this reminds us of the simpler and truer nature of giving gifts and tokens.

    It's nice that your still keeping in-touch with your relatives abroad. My relatives, once they go abroad they tend to forget their relatives here in the Philippines. LOL!

    Good stuff, hand-written postcards and letters. I personally give a lot of those out during holidays and special occasions :)

    It's so nice to receive something from someone you just know by name but never met in person. This is the good side of internet and online communication. We gain friends. Sending this postcard is so thoughtful of her.

    same here!! i still prefer reading books no matter how heavy, geeky or old fashioned carrying one than reading thru my ipad. same goes with personalized greeting - like post cards and hand written notes... hahaha that's my era! :)

    I think it is really great to receive postcards. I have never experienced receiving one in my life. i hope somebody will send me one in the future. i feel kinda jealous. this is really sweet.

    I, too received a postcard from her but with a different photo. Nice no? I suddenly remembered the "infographics" where people was so glad with the email system they ignore the snail mail but as time passed they wanted to received a snail mail instead of an email.
